Martin sits as Systemagic’s chairman, helping guide the business’s strategy and planning. As well as being an experienced investor he is a keen (or is that reluctant but persistent) cyclist having recently ridden from London to Paris and on a 400 mile trip through Italy among other lycra-clad adventures.
Five quick fire questions answered by Martin
What do you do when you’re not in the office?
Apart from riding my motorbike I tend to do lots of stupid challenges which are often more ambitious than my years, fitness and body should cope with (think Top Gun “Your ego is writing cheques your body can’t cash”). So this year apparently I will be cycling from Rome to Bari, which is about 400 miles, in 4 days with lots of hills!
What is your favourite piece of tech?
My Nespresso coffee maker. I simply can’t live without it or caffeine!
If you could move your desk anywhere in the world where would it be?
Flic-en-Flac beach in Mauritius (which I haven’t been to) or failing that any beautiful beach with sun, cocktails and a beautiful sunset.
What would your superpower be?
Teleportation so that I don’t have to go through airports and could weekend anywhere I wanted in the world – Failing that the ability to pack and unpack with a click of my fingers as I hate that bit of travelling!
What’s your Friday morning sandwich choice?
Sausages on wholemeal bread with butter only…no need to pollute with ketchup or brown sauce….old school!
