As just over half our team are male, what better day to give you an insight into the men behind the phone calls and the speedy ticket responses. We asked some of the guys at Systemagic some questions to get to know them a little better for International Men’s Day.
My job involves me answering customers calls and assisting them with technical issues whether that be hardware or software.
In my spare time I’m either putting my feet up and playing on my PlayStation or I’m out going for a drive with my mates
From quite a young age I was fascinated by technology whether it would be the useless gadgets that you saw in shops or electronic devices such as computers, I would always want to be fiddling with them and trying to see how they worked. I took IT and Computer science both in GCSE and A Level, so I knew it was something I wanted to do.
The main one for me would be earning my black belt in Tae Kwon Do, it took a lot of dedication to get to earn it. Another one would be reaching an international rugby tournament final.
My Dad has had the biggest influence on my life, he got me interested into some of my favourite things such as cars, computers, electronics, and he is always there to show me how to fix things. He also took me to every rugby match and training session so without him I wouldn’t have been able to do the hobbies I enjoy.
Being an on-site tech means that I not only get to help users on the helpdesk but I also get to meet them in person. This means I can be doing anything from helping with an email issue to running network cables for a new access point.
During my spare time I like to keep up with the latest tech news. I also frequently go climbing with friends.
From a young age, technology has been second nature to me so had a feeling that I would end up working within IT.
Through the past year I have got many certifications from Microsoft and other leading tech companies so would say that my certifications are my biggest achievements to date.
I look up to many tech influencers as well as those who have knowledge in areas that I don’t. There is always something a person can teach you.
At Systemagic, my job involves tackling the more complex issues that our clients throw at us. This can range from helpdesk tickets to projects and anything else in the meantime.
We have a young, flourishing team at Systemagic, so helping the team out with any issues as also key.
I play Football 3 times a week and for a local team on Saturdays. If I am not playing, then I’m watching Arsenal. Away from Football, you will find me at the Gym or hopefully in the USA.
It was always on the cards as you would be lucky to avoid technology in current times. However, I personally thought I would be doing something sporty!
My proudest achievements to date are winning my 18s football league and becoming Microsoft certified!
My Dad! He always made time for others and made sure he had time to do the things he enjoyed as well. He also gifted me his cruel sense of humour.
