This year has seen its fair share of history-making moments, but as we’re almost ready wave 2020 goodbye it’s around this time we usually review the past 365 days at Systemagic HQ and share with you some of our best bits. Yes, there were best bits, even in 2020!
We can’t look back on 2020 without recognising the major shift it’s brought in remote working. With minimal time for planning and preparation March saw our busiest period on record. We saw in 2 weeks more than 250% of our average monthly calls and 350% of our average monthly tickets! Our superstar technicians also managed to configure and ship more laptops in 2 weeks than we’d usually do in 6 months. The team did this while themselves adjusting to working remotely, so we’re incredibly proud of them all.
We’ve been working with our clients throughout the year helping them to stay lean, efficient and secure whilst making the most from their technology. We’ve helped more businesses than ever migrate their data over to SharePoint Online ensuring the entire process was pain-free with minimal downtime. As well as this we’ve helped countless organisations adapt to working from home embracing Microsoft Teams and all the other excellent collaborative platforms Microsoft 365 has to offer. It has been said that 2020 saw 3 years of digital transformation happen in 3 months and we would certainly agree with this.
The team were also thrilled to work with the IT managers at Magna Housing in order to support the deployment of 250 new laptops for their staff during lockdown, all whilst keeping response and resolution times to a minimum.

August saw us squeeze in a socially distanced away-day where we celebrated 21 years of Systemagic and agreed some exciting goals for the future. Our action-packed day allowed us to try our hand at archery, axe throwing and canoeing with 80% of the team ending up in the lake at the end of the day (luckily canoeing was last on the agenda!). It was a brilliant respite from the busy helpdesk and the challenges 2020 had brought.
As demand for our services continue to grow it’s been great to be in a position to offer employment opportunities to aspiring engineers during a year where many have found it challenging to find work. 2020 has seen us welcome Jamie Church, Aaron Crouch and Callum Williams to the team who have been kept nice and busy assisting our clients and ensuring their systems are running as they should be. We’re continue to expand too and hope to have more new faces joining us at the start of 2021 so watch this space.
Now 2021’s in sight our team continue to work with clients in supporting them through the huge shift in working from home. We continue to work in partnership with our customers implementing the best software and the most appropriate hardware in order for businesses to operate at 100%.
