What is Remote IT Support?

Remote IT support is a business service where an IT technician can troubleshoot your technical problems without the need to travel to you. Like any form of IT support, remote support plays an important role in today’s digital world.

With most businesses heavily reliant on IT and technology, the need for IT support services is essential to keep networks and devices running smoothly. A remote IT support provider is the cheapest and most convenient form of IT support for SMEs.

In this blog, we take a closer look at remote IT support and the advantages of using a remote IT support provider.

How Does Remote IT Support Work?

During your onboarding process, we will install a remote monitoring system on all your devices. This enables us to take control of your machine(s) when required.

When you experience technical problems, contact our friendly team via telephone or email, where a ticket will be raised.

Shortly after, a technician will be able to remotely login to and take over your device via our remote monitoring system. During this time, we will troubleshoot and attempt to fix the problem at hand.

Once the issue is resolved, the technician will log out of your machine, and you will be able to continue with your day.

What Are The Advantages of Remote IT Support?

There are many benefits to remote IT support. But the biggest advantage of it is convenience and timeliness

Before IT support could be done remotely, an IT technician would need to visit you in person. This visit would need to be scheduled and wouldn’t likely happen on the same day, especially if the ticket wasn’t a priority problem.

Remote support enables technicians to troubleshoot faster, without the need to travel between customers. Meaning that they can deal with more tickets per day. It also means that they can troubleshoot your IT problem at a time that suits you, perhaps during a meeting or lunch break when you will be away from your device.

Of course, some IT problems require a technician on-site. That’s why our team are always on hand for those more ‘hands-on’ problems.
