Step 1: Click on the magnifying glass in the top right corner.
Step 2: Type ‘System Preferences’ and click on the suggested programme
Step 3: Click ‘Users & Groups’, find your account and then ‘Change Password’.
Step 4: Type in your existing password, enter your new password (twice – the second time in verify) and then click ‘Change Password’.
Disabling Find my Mac
Step 5: Click on the 12 dots in the top left corner of the window
Step 6: Click ‘Apple ID’ – if this isn’t appearing, you’re not signed into an Apple ID and can skip this section
Step 7: Click on iCloud and then ‘Options’ next to ‘Find My Mac’
Step 8: Click ‘Turn Off’ next to the ‘Find My Mac: On’ section
Step 9: Click ‘Overview’ and then ‘Sign Out’
If you have signed out correctly, a window asking you to sign in with your Apple ID will appear.
