Prepare for the worst, hope for the best!

We’re not great bandwagon jumpers at Systemagic and remain positive and hopeful that the much talked about outbreak of COVID-19 Coronavirus will not affect us.  However, we and some of our clients have started to plan for how they can best operate whilst protecting employees and your business.  Here are some of the tools we have at our disposal to ensure you are and your team are prepared should the worst happen.

Enabling your team to work remotely

In a time where we are being told that we should ‘self-isolate’ if we have symptoms of the virus, you may want to prepare your team to be able to work from home.

If you aren’t using SharePoint and still need to connect back in to your office server then we can help to check that users have compatible devices to enable a VPN connection, so that your network can be accessed remotely, ensuring that your users have everything they need to continue working effectively.

To enable us to do this, we recommend that the user calls us when they are in the home environment so we can set this up and check that everything is working as expected.

Ensure users know how to connect

Your users may already have access to SharePoint or a VPN connection in place, but may not be confident on how to use these.

We can help users to familiarise themselves with the process prior to working from home, to ensure minimal downtime.

Can you communicate with your team and clients?

At Systemagic, we use Microsoft Teams to communicate not only internally but also with clients. We’re all set-up and using Teams phones system, allowing us to make and receive calls,  on any of our devices – anywhere!

Our home users no longer need an extra handset, or have to remember their VoIP headset, wherever they go. This gives us the ultimate flexibility to work anywhere at any time.

If you’re using Office 365 then you will most likely already have Teams in your subscription so our team can help to configure and demonstrate the platform for you. You can learn more about the benefits of using Microsoft teams by reading our recent blog.
